The pitch
"If your patients have insurance, your old quotation totals could be wrong whenever the insurance company's tax rate wasn't the same as the patient's. Dentolize now splits the tax correctly between what insurance pays and what the patient pays — on quotations, matching what invoices already did — so what you quote is what you'll actually bill."
Good discovery questions
- "Do your patients ever have insurance that covers only part of a procedure?" — if yes, this fix is directly relevant; if a clinic never deals with mixed patient/insurance payment, the tax-split fix matters less (though the new print layout still is a differentiator).
- "Have you ever had a quotation total not match the eventual invoice for the same treatment plan?" — this PR is a direct answer to that complaint if it's come up.
- "How do you currently hand patients their treatment estimate — printed, emailed, texted?" — the new print layout is most relevant to clinics doing in-person, paper-based estimates with a signature step.
Objection handling
- "We've never noticed a tax problem." The bug only shows up when the insurance company's registered tax rate differs from the patient's own rate — many clinics may not have hit it, or may have absorbed a small discrepancy without diagnosing it. Frame it as "this closes a gap before it costs you," not "you've definitely been losing money."
- "Do we have to change how we build quotations?" No — the day-to-day flow (pick procedures, adjust discount, save) is unchanged; the system calculates correctly underneath, and gives per-procedure controls in addition to what was there before.
- "Is the new print design mandatory?" No, it's opt-in per branch. A clinic can keep the existing layout indefinitely.
Competitive angle
Position this as evidence of active investment in the parts of the product that touch money and compliance — accurate tax handling on estimates (not just final invoices) is a detail that's easy for competitors to get wrong and hard for a prospect to verify themselves, which is exactly why walking through it in a demo (see Walkthrough) is worth the time.
What not to promise
- Don't claim this changes how insurance claims or e-invoicing (ZATCA) are calculated — this PR only touches Quotations; Invoices already had this tax-split logic and are unchanged here.
- Don't promise the new print layout is required or default — it must be explicitly turned on per branch.
- Don't claim the "insurance remaining" figure shown on a quotation is a live, up-to-the-minute balance — see For Support for why.
