The headline

Dentolize can now talk directly to a clinic's X-ray sensor/scanner workstation, through a real, purpose-built desktop application. A staff member requests a capture from inside the patient's chart; a person at the scanner accepts it and captures the image with a real TWAIN scanner driver; the image shows up in the right slot automatically, with no USB drives, no shared folders, no manual uploads.

Angles worth developing

  • "From sensor to chart, no hands." The core pitch: eliminate the save-then-find-then-upload dance that every clinic using a separate imaging PC deals with today.
  • Live progress, not guesswork. Staff see a real-time status widget instead of wondering whether the capture "actually went through."
  • Built for multi-room clinics. The feature is room-aware — a clinic with three operatories, each with its own scanner, can request a capture from Room 2 specifically, and the system prevents two staff members from ever colliding on the same scanner.
  • A real desktop application, not a promise. This isn't a "coming soon" integration — there's a working, installable Windows app with a 10-language interface, auto-update, and its own automated test suite that runs live end-to-end tests continuously.
  • Audit trail included. Every capture is logged — who requested it, which key/workstation responded, every status change with a timestamp, every credential's usage history — which is a differentiator for clinics that care about compliance/traceability of clinical media.
  • Built with defense in depth. Credentials are hashed at rest and instantly revocable, every uploaded image is independently re-verified by the server rather than trusted at face value — good supporting detail for security-conscious segments, framed carefully (see below).

What NOT to say yet

  • Don't claim general availability — the feature is behind a beta feature flag and only activates for enrolled companies.
  • Don't claim broad hardware compatibility or name specific sensor brands — the desktop app uses the industry-standard TWAIN interface, but validation against real physical scanner hardware from specific vendors is still in progress as of this PR (validated so far against reference/simulated capture only).
  • Don't claim it's Mac- or Linux-compatible — the desktop app currently ships as a Windows installer only, and unsigned (expect a code-signing milestone before wide pilot use).
  • Don't overclaim on security ("unbreakable," "bank-grade") — say "hashed credentials, instant revocation, server-side image verification" (all true and specific) rather than an absolute claim; this has not yet been through an external security audit.
  • Don't imply this replaces manual upload entirely — the existing "click or drag" upload path is untouched and still the only option for clinics without a connected desktop app.

Good source material for a demo

The Walkthrough page has real, current screenshots captured from a live sandbox that also runs the desktop app's own automated end-to-end tests — including genuine acquisition history, not staged mockups. Use those rather than fabricated mockups. One known rough edge to avoid screenshotting around in customer decks until it's fixed: a translation bug currently shows a raw key (patients.room) instead of "Room" as a column header in the acquisitions log.
